China-based leading perovskite cell manufacturer UtmoLight yesterday held a commencement ceremony for its 1 GW project in Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province.
The project was invested with RMB 3 billion, covering an area of 11.5 hectares. It was planned to set up a production line for the worlds’ first 1 GW of perovskite PV capacity, as well as 100 tons of perovskite quantum dot production line, research and development innovation center, and headquarters building.
The construction is expected to be completed in 2024 and fully operational by 2027. At that time, the total number of employees will reach 1,200, including 200 personnel with a master’s degree or above. After reaching the production capacity, the annual output value may reach RMB 2.5 billion yuan and the annual tax payment may exceed RMB 300 million yuan.
Established in April 2020 in Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone, UtmoLight is a globally leading perovskite industrialization technology development enterprise incubated by Great Wall Holdings Group. So far, the company has applied for more than 200 patents, including over 140 inventions, and several honors awarded by Jiangsu Province and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
