Vietnamese company Boviet Solar recently announced the official launch of its first solar module plant in Greenville, North Carolina, the United States. The plant, with a total investment of US $294 million, will employ N-type solar cell technology to manufacture high-performance Gamma Series™ monofacial and Vega Series™ bifacial solar modules.

Boviet Solar will hold an opening ceremony at the plant on April 24th. The factory, constructed in two phases, currently has a Phase I annual production capacity of 2GW. Phase II will involve the construction of a roughly 600,000-square-foot solar cell factory, scheduled to become operational in the second half of 2026.
It is reported that Boviet Solar is a subsidiary controlled by Vietnam Sunergy Corporation. In the fourth quarter of 2024, Boviet Solar announced its global strategic expansion plan, revealing the establishment of two new production bases in Southeast Asia and Europe, expected to commence operations in 2026. The Southeast Asian base will be located in either Vietnam or Thailand, while the European base will be situated in either Spain or Poland, with both facilities planned to have an annual production capacity of 5GW each. By 2025, Boviet Solar’s global annual production capacity has already reached 10GW, and this expansion will increase its global annual production capacity to 15GW.
