Trina Solar said on Friday that its Vertex 210+ n-type modules have started rolling off the production lines at the new 10 GW factory in Changzhou, Jiangsu province of China.
Despite logistics hurdles and labor shortages, Trina Solar took only six days to commission the production line after the arrival of the manufacturing equipment at the start of January, said Trina Solar.
This is Trina Solar’s second factory to have started rolling off n-type products in a month.
At the start of January, Trina Solar said its 8 GW factory in Suqian, Jiangsu started producing 210mm n-type i-TOPCon solar cells.
Through years of R&D of high-efficiency solar cells at Trina Solar’s State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology (PVST), the company developed n-type i-TOPCon technology and was the first in the industry to commercialize i-TOPCon solar cells.
On top of n-type solar cells’ advantages, Trina Solar’s 210mm technology platform contributes to higher power, higher conversion efficiency, higher power generation, higher reliability and lower LCOE of the solar cells.
The production capacity of its 210mm n-type modules is expected to reach 30 GW in 2023.
