Risen Energy to add 10 GW n-type solar cell capacity

Module manufacturer Risen Energy announced last Friday to ramp up its production capacity of high efficiency solar cells by building a 10 GW factory in Chuzhou, a city in China’s Anhui province.

With a total investment of about RMB 2.75 billion, the expansion is aimed at improving the manufacturer’s self-sufficiency of solar cells for its module production.

The factory will be built in two phases in three years. The whole project is expected to complete construction at the end of 2025.

The solar cells produced in the new factory will adopt n-type technology.

For many years, Risen Energy has been dedicated to the research and development of high-efficiency solar cells. Currently, the conversion efficiency of its TOPCon solar cell has exceeded 25.00%, and that of heterojunction (HJT) solar cell has crossed 25.50%.

Risen Energy believes that the move is in line with its production capacity plan in the long-term. It will enhance the company’s ability to seize rising opportunities in the solar PV industry and increase its market share globally.
