Jordan Initiates Anti-Dumping Investigation on Chinese Photovoltaic Cells

On April 15th, the National Production Protection Agency under the Jordanian Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply issued a notice in Jordan’s official daily newspaper, announcing the launch of an anti-dumping investigation on photovoltaic cells (Photovoltaic Cells assembled in modules or prepared as panels) originating in or imported from China, upon application by domestic producer Philadelphia Solar Energy Company.

The dumping investigation period for this case spans from January 1st, 2024, to December 31st, 2024, while the injury investigation period covers January 1st, 2022, to December 31st, 2024. The products in question are photovoltaic cells already assembled in modules or prepared as panels, falling under Jordanian tariff code 854143000. Unless extended (up to a maximum of six months), the final ruling is expected to be issued within 12 months from the date of the notice’s publication.

Interested parties are required to register their responses within 10 days from the date of the notice’s publication, while foreign interested parties must submit their questionnaires within 45 days.
