Leading industrial inspection equipment manufacturer Zhengye Technology has signed an agreement with authorities in Jingdezhen city to build a 5 GW solar module and 8 GW heterojunction (HJT) solar cell facility.
The project, with a total investment of about five billion RMB, will be constructed in three phases. When the whole project becomes operational, it is expected to create 16.8 billion RMB revenue annually.
Zhengye Technology is an industrial inspection equipment producer founded in 1997. The company provides products and services for printed circuit board (PCB), Lithium battery, flat panel display, semiconductor, etc.
In June 2021, Zhengye Technology became a state-owned enterprise with the Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Jingdezhen as the actual controller of the company.
Since then, the company has adjusted its strategies and set eyes on the renewable energy industry.
Solarbe’s data shows that China currently has 15.56 GW capacity for HJT products. However, the planned capacity has exceeded 150 GW, most of which will be commissioned in 2023 and 2024.
