India Launches 800MW Local N-Type PV Module Production

Indian PV manufacturer Solex Energy Limited has officially commenced operations at a new 800MW solar module production line in Gujarat.

Solex will produce n-type rectangular Tapi-R series TOPCon modules at its new factory, with power ranges from 585W to 625W. These modules utilize 182.2mm×210mm half-cut cells in a configuration of 132 pieces. Named after the Tapi River in India, the Tapi-R series boasts an efficiency of up to 23.14% and is suitable for harsh environments such as deserts and barren lands. The series features a bifaciality rate of approximately 80% and a power temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C. Solex offers a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power warranty, claiming the lowest annual degradation rate for this series.

With the commissioning of the 800MW production line, Solex’s module capacity has expanded to 1.5GW, and the company plans to further increase it to 15GW by 2030, aligned with its “Vision 2030.” By June 2025, Solex expects to add another 2.5GW of module capacity, bringing the total to 4GW.

Additionally, Solex announced its entry into solar cell manufacturing in October 2024, with plans to initially establish 2GW of capacity and gradually expand to 5GW.
