The polysilicon manufacturing project being constructed by United Solar Holding in Oman has recently secured support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.

The project, fully titled United Solar Polysilicon (USP), is located in the Sohar Free Zone in Oman. With a total investment of $1.6 billion, the project is designed to produce 100,000 tons of polysilicon annually and is currently under construction.
It is noteworthy that in 2024, the project received investments from Oman’s sovereign wealth fund, Future Fund Oman (FFO), and ewpartners (formerly known as eWTP Arabia Capital). This marked ewpartners’ first investment in the energy transition sector.
