Huasun at Intersolar South America 2024: partnering with local industrial leader to drive green energy innovation

Intersolar South America 2024 returned to the North Exhibition Centre in São Paulo, Brazil, featuring top photovoltaic (PV) companies from Latin America and beyond. Huasun Energy, a leader in heterojunction (HJT) solar technology, highlighted its comprehensive HJT industrial layout, spanning from silicon wafers and solar cells to modules. The company’s cutting-edge exhibits, including zero busbar (0BB) products and perovskite-HJT tandem cells  drew significant international interest and sparked wide discussions at the show.

Brazil, the largest country in Latin America, is endowed with lush rainforests and ample sunlight. With 80% of its land situated in the tropics, Brazil enjoys over 3,000 hours of sunshine annually and receives an average of 1,700 kWh/m² of solar radiation on a horizontal plane nationwide, highlighting its abundant PV resources.

In the first half of this year, Brazil imported approximately 12.1 GW of Chinese PV modules, maintaining its position as the largest importer in the American market. The Brazilian government’s recent reduction of the base rate is set to enhance project financing and is anticipated to stimulate local demand for centralized project development. This indicates significant growth potential and extensive opportunities for project development in the Brazilian PV market.

Featuring “four high” advantages of high power output, high energy yield, high efficiency, and high reliability and “four low” characteristics of low degradation, low temperature coefficient, low carbon emissions and low Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE), Huasun’s HJT products are internationally recognized by the solar industry. Featuring advanced HJT technology and versatile designs, the full series of Himalaya and Everest products showcased offer comprehensive value improvements across various application scenarios.

To meet the increasing demand for high-efficiency PV products, Huasun’s latest innovation, the 0BB technology, garnered significant attention at the exhibition. Simulation data indicates that compared to the TOPCon modules of the same type, Huasun’s 0BB HJT modules generate approximately 64 more hours of electricity in the first year. The superior temperature coefficient of -0.24%/℃ ensures high power generation, reliability, low Balance of System (BOS) costs, and low LCOE, even in high-temperature and high-humidity conditions.

With a strong focus on HJT technology, Huasun has extended its reach to over 40 countries and regions, achieving cumulative shipments exceeding 6 GW. During the exhibition, Huasun secured a supply agreement for HJT modules with BelEnergy, a leading Brazilian PV distributor. Gustavo Tegon, BelEnergy’s Commercial Director, remarked, “We are honored to partner with Huasun to advance the Brazilian PV market. The high-quality HJT wafers, cells, and modules displayed here showcase Huasun’s advancements in HJT R&D and industrialization. With Huasun’s cutting-edge HJT technology, we are confident the products will be successfully applied in numerous significant PV projects in Brazil.”

The Intersolar South America exhibition concluded successfully, marking the beginning of a new chapter for HJT technology. By advancing the promotion and application of HJT technology in the local market, Huasun is set to elevate Brazil’s solar development to new heights through its technical expertise, product innovation, brand strength, and intellectual resources.

Huasun’s success in Intersolar South America 2024 underscores its deeper commitment to the Latin American market and highlights its efforts to enhance brand influence. Moving forward, Huasun will continue to drive technological innovation and maintain high-quality standards, aiming to advance Brazil’s energy sector in collaboration with local partners.
