China-based infrastructure construction company Hongrun Construction said it plans to invest up to 1 billion yuan in building a 5 GW high-efficiency solar cell and module fab in China.
According to Hongrun Construction, the facility will principally manufacture heterojunction, TOPCon, and other n-type solar cells and modules.
The company aims to seize the opportunity in the solar PV industry by expanding its business into solar cell and module manufacturing, said Hongrun Construction.
Hongrun Construction, founded in 1994, is a listed company on Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Its main business includes construction, infrastructure investment, and solar PV manufacturing.
Its subsidiary, Shanghai Taiyang Green Energy Co., Ltd. is engaged in solar cell and module manufacturing.
Qinghai Hongrun New Energy Investment Co., Ltd., another subsidiary of the company, is principally engaged in the investment and construction of solar PV power plants.
