On February 18, Mingyang Smart Energy (601615. SH) told investors that the company has procured manufacturing equipment for its heterojunction solar cell facility which has started construction in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province of China. Its HJT module facility is also under construction in Xinyang City, Henan Province, and will be put into operation by the end of this year.
Mingyang Smart Energy, a Chinese company known for its wind turbines, made three investments in HJT projects last year, including a 5 GW solar cell facility, a 5 GW high-efficiency module facility, an HJT module production plant in Shaoguan, and a 5GW HJT cell facility in Yancheng City. The total investment has reached 9.1 billion yuan.
On November 30, 2021, the commencement ceremony of Mingyang Smart Energy’s 5 GW HJT cell project was held in Yancheng. With an investment of 5 billion yuan, the designed capacity of phase I project is 2.5 GW.
The average conversion efficiency of the modules to be produced in the plant is expected to be more than 24.5%.
