Driving Energy Transition in Latin America: Huasun Highlights Heterojunction Solar at 2nd GC Forum Brazil 2024

On October 2-3, 2024, the 2nd Brazilian Forum on Centralized Power Generation (GC Forum) was held in São Paulo, Brazil. David Tsaava, Regional Sales Director of Huasun Energy, and Christian Comes, Director of Business Development for Europe, presented heterojunction (HJT) solar technology to an audience of over 300 industry experts. Their presentation garnered significant acclaim, underscoring Huasun’s ongoing expansion in the Latin American market. This engagement highlights the potential for enhanced global collaboration in HJT technology, fostering the development of advanced, high-efficiency photovoltaic solutions.

In his presentation titled “HJT Technology Advantages and Benefits in Utility-Scale Applications,” David Tsaava offered a comprehensive overview of Huasun’s integrated industry chain, from silicon wafers to modules, with a focus on the G12-132 and G12R-132 products. He stated, “Huasun’s G12-132 modules achieve a maximum power output of 768.938W and an efficiency of up to 24.75%, distinguishing themselves within the photovoltaic landscape.” Tsaava highlighted the exceptional efficiency and stability of Huasun’s HJT modules, which have proven effective in diverse environments, including the plains of Bulgaria, the mountains of Yunnan, and the deserts of Xinjiang, China. He expressed confidence that Huasun’s products will perform equally well under varying conditions in Brazil.

Huasun continues to lead in photovoltaic innovation with the introduction of V-ocean marine-dedicated PV modules, G12R rectangular modules, and zero busbar (0BB) technology. The V-ocean modules are specifically designed to withstand the demanding conditions of Brazil’s marine environment, effectively addressing challenges such as high humidity and salt corrosion, while targeting the country’s huge offshore PV market. As the first HJT rectangular module in the industry, the G12R series showcases Huasun’s R&D prowess, achieving a power gain of nearly 30W over comparable n-type modules. Moreover, the implementation of 0BB technology has significantly enhanced the performance and reliability of Huasun’s entire product range, supporting a greener and more sustainable future for Brazil.

As emphasis on the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) grows among investors and owners of large-scale ground-mounted solar power plants, reducing the costs of photovoltaic systems has become essential for minimizing investment payback periods, lowering financial risks, and improving project economic returns. This trend is prompting both project owners and module manufacturers to actively pursue enhanced solutions.

Christian Comes presented a detailed comparison of Huasun’s HJT technology against TOPCon and TBC technologies during the event. Huasun’s HJT modules exhibit distinct advantages in key metrics, including bifaciality, temperature coefficient, and degradation rate, resulting in improved LCOE across various mounting systems. With enhanced power generation performance and notable cost benefits, Huasun’s HJT modules not only optimize Brazil’s energy landscape but also deliver the advantages of efficient photovoltaic technology to the Brazilian populace, offering practical benefits and convenience.

The Himalaya G12 series of HJT modules, recognized for their exceptional performance, successfully completed six rigorous reliability tests and earned the “Top Performer” title from Kiwa PVEL in 2024.

Furthermore, in the monthly Top Modules ranking published by TaiyangNews, the Huasun G12-132 modules have achieved a commercial power of 720W and an efficiency of 23.18% since this August, making them the most powerful product on the list and leading the efficiency for all non-BC type modules. These accolades underscore Huasun’s strong position within the photovoltaic industry.

Huasun leverages cutting-edge technology to advance HJT development from the laboratory to real-world applications, consistently earning customer trust. To date, over 7 GW of Huasun’s HJT modules have been deployed across more than 40 countries and regions, facilitating energy transitions in these areas.

Recently, Huasun signed a cooperation agreement with BelEnergy, a prominent Brazilian photovoltaic distributor, establishing a supply agreement for HJT modules and facilitating batch deliveries of Huasun’s products in the Latin American region. Moving forward, Huasun is committed to strengthening its partnerships in Latin America, adopting an open and steady approach to expand its presence in the market.
