China’s largest single-site solar PV power station with heterojunction (HJT) modules has completed construction and is ready to connect to the grid.
The project, located in Weifang, a city in China’s Shandong province, has an installed capacity of 50 MW. The modules used are the Himalaya G12 series HJT modules supplied by Huasun.
As an important producer and exporter of agricultural products, Weifang has been an ambitious and active player in the deployment of agri-PV projects.
The project is built on an agricultural wasteland, covering a total area of about 1.15 square kilometers. After completion, economic crops will be planted under the solar modules.
This is not the first agri-PV project using Huasun’s solar modules. A 23 MW fishery PV project invested by China General Nuclear Power Group in Xuancheng also adopted Huasun’s Himalaya HJT modules. The project has successfully connected to the grid.
It is calculated that the project will generate 6.4 million kWh of electricity annually, producing 6%-8% higher power than PERC bifacial modules and adding 1.5 million yuan more revenue.
