Chinese solar PV module manufacturer Trina Solar recently has announced that its large-sized 210mm module has adopted heterojunction (HJT) technology and achieved maximum power to 710 W. The module efficiency has been brought up to 22.55%, with power generation of the system increased by 4-8%.
The company has previously revealed in its 2021 Interim Performance Report that it has been conducting 210 HJT module certification, and had completed relevant research on HJT reliability and made a breakthrough. Recently, the module has been certified by Germany’s standards body TÜV SÜD.
Heterojunction cell subverts the traditional cell structure. The advantages of heterojunction modules in conversion efficiency significantly exceed perc. At present, the heterojunction power generation efficiency is 1-1.5% higher than perc, thus the integrated power of modules higher than perc can be realized. From the calculation of power generation gain, HJT is 9% higher than perc module in terms of module power, which can bring a maximum power increase of about 60 W.
