Sunnypower to move its headquarters to California to expand solar business in the US

According to financial website JRJ.com, Chinese solar products manufacturer Shenzhen Sunnypower New Energy Co., Ltd recently announced its plan to move its headquarters from Hong Kong to Santa Clara, California in the US, aiming to focus on solar energy business in the United States and accelerating the growth of fast-growing electric vehicle department.

According to Xiaofeng Peng, chairman and CEO of the company, the company was first established in Roseville, California in 2006, and the decision was made after the discussion of board members, which would provide the greatest advantage for the company’s business.

The company has been active in the European and American markets since this year. In early July, the company announced that the sales volume of its subsidiary’s series inverter in Australia exceeded 2 GW, becoming the first solar energy distributor in Australia to achieve this sales volume.

In March, it announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Solarjuice American had successfully purchased some assets and intellectual property rights of American Solar developer Petersen Dean. The deal has been approved by the court and allows Solarjuice American to restart and strengthen the installation of Petersen Dean’s solar, battery and refurbished rooftop projects. According to the data of solar energy industry association and Mordor Intelligence, in 2020, the US solar energy installation increased by 43% year-on-year, and it is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 17.3% by 2025.
