Protect global ecology with photovoltaic power: JinkoSolar

Some 300 guests from home and abroad have attended the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 15) on October 9 in south China’s Yunnan Province.

They shared various experience in the construction of ecological civilization and explore the way of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and the construction of global ecological civilization at the concurrent Erhai Forum with the theme of “Building An Ecological civilization Together For A Beautiful Planet”.

Guided by the State Council Information Office of China and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the forum was jointly hosted by the People’s Government of Yunnan Province. Officials from the embassies of Serbia, Sudan and Samoa in China and the Consulates General of Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam in Kunming were invited to attend.

Qian Jing, President of JinkoSolar attended the event and made a keynote speech.

She said that climate change, land degradation and biodiversity loss have become global challenges for sustainable development and three prominent environmental problems facing all mankind. Renewable energy represented by photovoltaic has gradually become the main force of energy structure in various countries. It will systematically solve or alleviate these three problems at the same time.

She added that there is no doubt about the significance of photovoltaic in achieving the dual carbon goal and curbing climate change; Various applications of photovoltaic plus new scenarios, such as photovoltaic desertification control, photovoltaic irrigation and photovoltaic seawater desalination, help solve ecological problems such as land degradation and biodiversity loss, promote ecological governance, and form the simultaneous growth of economic, environmental and ecological benefits.
