LONGi won BIPV project for 8 Sinopec gas stations

LONGi Green Energy has recently won the EPC for a BIPV project of eight Sinopec gas stations.

This is the result of LONGi’s in-depth deployment in the BIPV market. In August 2020, the company released its first BIPV product–LONGi Roof, officially announcing its entry into the BIPV market.

In March this year, LONGi spent 1.635 billion yuan to acquire 27.25% of the shares of Center Int, becoming its second largest shareholder. The two companies aim to expand their business to large-scale public building market by giving full play to Center Int’s advantages in building roof design and maintenance, and LONGi’s advantages in BIPV product manufacturing.

In April, LONGi and Sinopec signed a strategic cooperation agreement, which is of great significance to both sides. The latter has taken hydrogen as a major future direction, aiming to build “China’s largest hydrogen energy company”. However, to achieve this goal, Sinopec needs to reduce its carbon emissions. Photovoltaic is the key to this end.

Winning the bid for eight gas stations of Sinopec marks the beginning of LONGi’s in-depth layout in BIPV and the start of cooperation for the two companies.
