On Tuesday, LONGi lowered its silicon wafer prices for all sizes by up to 9.8%, driving down stock prices of multiple solar manufacturers on China and US stock markets.
The price of 158.75mm wafers has been lowered from 5.53RMB to 5.12RMB (US$0.707), down by 7.4%. That of 166mm M6 wafers is now 5.32RMB (US$0.735), 7.2% cheaper than last month. The price of 182mm M10 wafers has dropped by 9.8% to 6.20RMB (US$0.856).

The stock prices of major silicon wafer manufacturers such as LONGi, Zhonghuan, Shangji Automation and JYT Corp all fell in response to that.
LONGi’s shares fell by 3.84%; Zhonghuan dropped by 6.27%, Shangji Automation by 4.81% and JYT by 4.60%%.
JA Solar, whose wafer production capacity is mainly for its own use, fell by 4.38%.
In addition, JinkoSolar (JKS:NYSE), which is listed on New York Stock Exchange, fell by 6.63%. Canadian Solar (CSIQ:NASDAQ) on NASDAQ was less affected and dropped by 2.87% last night.
