Recently, LEM Electronics, the global electricity sensor leader and the expert of 49-year electricity measurement solutions, appeared in Shenzhen PCIM Asia 2021. The exhibition showed a variety of technical products and solutions in the whole industry, shared innovative R&D achievements with the visitors, and explored the future energy development trend under sustainable development.
In this exhibition, CAB1500 series current sensors applied by LEM to BMS management of new energy vehicles, HMSR series current sensors and GO series current sensors applied to photovoltaic inverters have attracted the attention of many people in the industry and become the highlights of this exhibition.

According to Zhang Yonggang, general sales manager of LEM China, CAB1500 series high-precision current sensors are mainly used in automotive BMS management, which can meet the charge and discharge current measurement, overcurrent monitoring and battery SOC estimation of new energy vehicles. They have the main advantages of high current and high precision.
As the industry’s first CBAB1500 product specifically for BMS management applications of new energy vehicles and in line with functional safety, the sensor is more convenient to install and developed based on ISO26262 functional safety to meet the needs of more users. The product can be widely used in battery systems of pure electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles.

HMSR series current sensor is specially launched for the needs of photovoltaic inverter customers and is suitable for the DC side of series inverter. HMSR series current sensor adopts a single power supply design. It is a miniaturized patch type current sensor applied on the DC side. Its volume is smaller than that of the traditional HMSR series, which can help customers realize compact design. At the same time, the cost is lower, which meets the continuous cost reduction needs of customers of the whole photovoltaic inverter.
LEM is the market leader in providing innovative and high quality solutions for measuring electrical parameters. Its core products – current and voltage transducers – are used in a broad range of applications in drives and welding, renewable energies, UPS, power supplies, traction, high precision, conventional and green cars businesses. LEM’s strategy is to exploit the intrinsic strengths of its core business, and to develop opportunities in existing and new markets with new applications. It has production plants in Beijing (China), Geneva (Switzerland), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Tokyo (Japan). With regional sales offices near its customers’ locations, the company is able to offer a seamless service around the globe. LEM has been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since 1986; the company’s ticker symbol is LEHN.
In the first half of this year, LEM was greatly affected by the global pandemic and the shortage of chip supply chain, but China was relatively less affected. Despite the problems such as delivery delay, the performance has maintained a strong double-digit growth, which shows the hot market demand.
LEM’s business covers many fields such as wind energy, energy storage, charging pile, drive, railway and new energy vehicles. Among them, photovoltaic business and new energy vehicle business will be the two key areas of LEM in the future. In Zhang Yonggang’s view, “the new energy market will have dozens of times more growth space or even more in the future, so we will increase investment, continue to deeply develop new products, improve cost performance, and strive to help customers optimize costs.”
