Jinko invests over US$365 million to set up wafer factory in Vietnam

On September 19, authorities in the northern province of Quang Ninh, Vietnam, presented an investment registration certificate to a 365 million USD wafer project of Jinko Solar Vietnam Co. Ltd., an affiliate of the Jinko Solar Holding Co. Ltd.


The construction is expected to start at the end of September 2021, and it will produce its first silicon wafers in December.

According to Vietnamplus, the project is the highest worth in the province with an aim to manufacture, install and sell single-crystal silicon ingots and wafers, as well as study science and develop technologies.

The project has a designed capacity of about 1.43 billion wafers per year. Once operational, the project is expected to attract 2,188 workers, including 1,946 Vietnamese workers and 242 foreign experts and technicians.
