JA Solar starts 6 GW cell, module production in Yangzhou

Chinese solar module producer JA Solar held the launching ceremony of 6 GW high-efficiency cell and 6 GW high-power module project yesterday in its base in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. The ceremony was presided by Niu Xinwei, member of the board and CEO of JA Solar.

Zhang Baojuan, Secretary of Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Jin Baofang, chairman of JA Solar attended the ceremony and delivered a speech respectively.

Jin Baofang said in his speech that the base in Yangzhou is a leading photovoltaic manufacturing base and cell module R&D center. The new project adopts industry advanced equipment and technology, mainly producing 182mm large-size high-efficiency cells and DeepBlue 3.0 high-power modules. The products will be supplied to customers all over the world.

Zhang Baojuan fully acknowledged the contribution of JA Solar as a leading photovoltaic enterprise to the new energy industry. She pointed out that the new project is of great significance to the industrial transformation and upgrading of Yangzhou and high-quality development.

At the ceremony, JA Solar also signed a cooperation agreement with Yangzhou Economic Development Zone on distributed photovoltaic power plants, an agreement with a consortium composed of four banks, and a cooperation agreement with two universities.
