Huawei signs the world’s largest energy storage project in Dubai

Chinese power solution provider Huawei Digital Power sighed an energy storage project of Saudi Red Sea New City with SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd (SEPCOIII) at the Global Digital Power Summit 2021 held in Dubai, UAE, on October 16th. The two sides will work together to help Saudi Arabia build a global clean energy and green economy center.


The energy storage scale of the project is 1,300 MWh, the largest energy storage project in the world, as well as the largest off grid energy storage project, with great strategic significance and benchmarking demonstration effect on the development of global energy storage industry.

The project is a key project listed in Saudi Arabia’s “vision 2030” plan, developed by ACWA Power and constructed by SEPCOIII. In the future, the power of the whole city will come entirely from new energy, and the city will lead a new way of life and seek to achieve a new economic growth point under the situation of increasing depletion of oil and other resources.
