IT Home’s research has found that Lenovo has previously showcased a concept solar-powered keyboard and mouse, which theoretically do not require additional charging, although the specific effectiveness remains to be explored. Additionally, using solar power to supply electricity to a laptop would obviously require a higher power rating, and more information is awaited from Lenovo’s official announcement.

Samsung introduced the world’s first solar-powered laptop, the NC215S, in 2011. This laptop also featured a solar panel on its A-surface, claiming to provide approximately one hour of battery life after being exposed to sunlight for about two hours. The NC215S was equipped with an Intel Atom N455 or N570 processor.

Furthermore, Canadian company Wewi launched a solar-powered laptop named Sol in 2013, running on the Ubuntu operating system. This device was reported to offer ten hours of usage after being charged by solar power for just two hours.
