On January 27, DMEGC announced that the second phase of its wholly-owned subsidiary’s annual 12GW new high-efficiency cell project, a 6GW TOPCon high-efficiency cell production line, has been completed and is gradually being put into production.
It is understood that on January 19, 2023, DMEGC released an announcement regarding its subsidiary’s investment in the annual 12GW new high-efficiency cell project, stating that the company had signed an investment agreement for the annual 20GW new high-efficiency cell project with the People’s Government of Xuzhou District, Yibin City, and the Management Committee of Yibin High-tech Industrial Park. Sichuan East Magnet plans to invest in the construction of the first and second phases of the annual 20GW new high-efficiency cell project in Xuzhou District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, totaling an annual output of 12GW. The total investment of this project is approximately RMB 3,553.56 million, including fixed asset investment of approximately RMB 3,071.5 million and working capital of approximately RMB 482.06 million. Upon completion and full capacity utilization of the project, it is expected to add 12GW of TOPCon cell capacity.
In October 2023, the first phase of the project’s 6GW new high-efficiency cell production line was successfully completed. Currently, the second phase of the project’s 6GW TOPCon high-efficiency cell production line has been completed and is gradually being put into production.
DMEGC stated that this project aligns with the company’s strategic deployment to “develop new energy.” With the gradual release of new capacity, it will promote cost reduction and efficiency enhancement in the company’s photovoltaic industry and enhance the production capacity scale and comprehensive competitiveness of new high-efficiency cells.
