Recently, NuVision Solar, a U.S. company, announced plans to establish a 2.5GW Heterojunction (HJT) solar cell and module manufacturing factory in the United States, with production expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025. The specific location of the factory has not been disclosed yet.
According to the company, the factory will produce double-sided solar modules with a maximum output power of 800W, utilizing a main-free grid technology, and offer a performance guarantee of up to 35 years for the modules and a 20-year product warranty. The modules will meet the localization requirements of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in the United States, enabling customers to receive an additional 10% tax incentive.
NuVision boasts a team with over 20 years of experience in manufacturing GW-scale solar cells and modules. Its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Tom Mueller, previously held director positions in research and development at Maxeon Solar Technologies and SunPower Corporation, and was also the director of silicon solar cells and modules at the Singapore Solar Energy Research Institute. The Chief Operating Officer (COO), Paul Roraff, held senior positions at Heliene, a photovoltaic manufacturer headquartered in Canada.
