Trina Solar and Shell’s EGO sign 15-year power purchase agreement in Italy

Recently, Trina Solar’s International Station Business Unit (ISBU) announced a 15-year power purchase agreement with EGO, an energy management company under Shell Group.

The agreement involves a collaboration on nine photovoltaic power plants totaling 69 megawatts, located across various regions in Italy. Construction is currently underway for these solar projects, which are expected to be connected to the grid and operational by the end of 2025 at the latest. During the construction phase, the projects are set to create approximately 1,000 jobs nationwide, injecting new vitality into the local economy.

Once operational, the solar power plants are projected to generate 119 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually, meeting the energy needs of about 7,000 local households and making a positive contribution to Italy’s energy supply and sustainable development.

For Trina Solar ISBU, this power purchase agreement marks a significant milestone in its transition from pure project development to becoming an independent energy provider. Trina Solar ISBU stated that it will continue to drive global energy transformation by providing clean and reliable energy solutions in more regions.

Both parties expressed their commitment to deepening cooperation and jointly promoting the optimization and upgrading of global energy structures.
