Arctech signs order for 2.3GW solar project in Saudi Arabia

On October 17, at the 2024 International Engineering Supply Chain Development Conference, Arctech signed an order with China Energy Engineering Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. for the 2.3 GW photovoltaic project in Saudi Arabia. This marks another deep collaboration between the two parties in the Middle East energy sector.

The Saudi Hadran photovoltaic project serves as a demonstration initiative to support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2060, with plans to commence commercial operations by early 2027.

The project will utilize a total of 2.3 GW of Arctech’s Skyline II tracking systems, specifically designed to adapt to the desert terrain and high wind conditions of western Saudi Arabia, while enhancing electricity generation and the project’s overall lifecycle returns. Upon completion, it is expected to generate approximately 156.189 billion kilowatt-hours over 25 years, resulting in a reduction of nearly 147 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, providing strong support for Saudi Arabia’s net-zero emissions target by 2060.
