TW Solar sees rapid growth in Q2 solar module orders

TW Solar, a leading provider of solar panel products in China, has reported explosive growth in its solar module orders during the second quarter of 2023. This follows the company’s recent announcement that it secured a massive 1 GW order from Power China on June 11th.

According to data released by TW Solar, the company’s utility-scale business experienced rapid growth during Q2, with an explosion in the size of bids awarded.

TW Solar has reported securing multiple large orders from state-owned enterprises in China, including China Resources, China Datang Corporation, PetroChina, China Huadian Corporation, Three Gorges Corporation, and Power China. These orders have helped the company establish itself as a key player in China’s solar industry.

The demand for high-power n-type and large-sized modules continues to expand, and as an early adopter of n-type technology, TW Solar has positioned itself as a frontrunner in this area.

TW Solar’s strategic focus on n-type technology has allowed the company to capitalize on market signals and stake out a leadership position.

In 2020, the company began researching and developing n-type technology in advance of market trends. Today, TW Solar is leveraging the strengths of its mature p-type technology alongside the advantages of n-type technology to create a product matrix that matches utility market demand.

TW Solar has also established close partnerships with major state-owned enterprises, exploring a range of applications for solar power across industries including agriculture, livestock breeding, and desertification control.

By working together to create “solar oases,” TW Solar and its partners are actively contributing to China’s dual carbon reduction goals while driving sustainable economic development.

TW Solar’s p-type product line includes the 182 mm model using the TPC technology, with a mainstream power output of 550W, and the 210 mm model offering a power output of up to 675W.

In terms of n-type products, TW Solar has showcased two new models at SNEC Shanghai and Intersolar Europe this year: the TWMNG-72HD and TWMHF-66HD.

The TWMNG-72HD uses TOPCon large rectangular cells and TNC technology, delivering maximum power outputs of up to 625W, while the TWMHF-66HD is the industry’s first panel to use THL technology, and has a maximum output of 732.6W, with higher power output, lower degradation rates, and better temperature coefficients than comparable p-type panels.

With revenues, net profits, asset size, and market value all rising rapidly, TW Solar has climbed to 494th on Forbes’ 2023 Global 2000 list, becoming one of the main driving forces and key participants in China’s and the world’s solar industry.
