China-based solar cell and module manufacturer DMEGC announced to invest 10 billion yuan to build a 20 GW high-efficiency solar cell manufacturing facility in Sichuan province of China.
The facility will be constructed in three phases. The first and second phase each involves a 6 GW TOPCon solar cell factory.
In the third phase, the company aims to build a 8 GW high efficiency solar cell factory. The technology to be adopted for this factory will be determined based on the maturity of next-gen technologies.
DMEGC said that the company’s module products have been shipped mainly to the distributed market in Europe. The shipment volume of the company is expected to occupy 10% of distributed market demand in the continent.
Data provided by DMEGC suggests that 80% of the company’s modules have been shipped to Europe. It has established subsidiaries in Germany and the Netherlands, and built storage houses and delivery hubs at multiple locations to offer faster delivery services.
