Leading solar module manufacturer JA Solar announced that it will supply modules for the first photovoltaic (PV) and waste-to-energy plant in the Republic of Congo.
The project, located in the IGNIE special economic zone, includes a solar-storage plant of more than 55 MWp and a waste-to-energy plant with a daily waste treatment capacity of 500 tonnes at the initial stage of the operation.
The PV power plant will be installed with JA Solar DeepBlue 3.0 modules. Once completed, the project, designed by TINDA CASH CONGO S.A Producer IPP, is said to help to improve the energy production capacities of the national utility E2C.
A.Th.Nicephore FYLLA Saint-eudes, the Minister of Industrial Development and Promotion of the Private Sector of Congo congratulated the signing of the agreement, and wished for a timely completion of the project.
DeepBlue 3.0 is an advanced PV module series manufactured by JA Solar starting from May 2020. From 2020 to June 2022, the company has shipped 24 GW of DeepBlue 3.0 modules globally.
In May 2022, JA Solar launched its first n-type PV module product, DeepBlue 4.0 X. Inheriting DeepBlue 3.0’s advantages, DeepBlue 4.0 X exhibits higher efficiency, higher power, stronger power generation capability and excellent reliability, said JA Solar.
