Indonesia, as the largest economy in Southeast Asia, has witnessed continuous increase in domestic electricity demand in recent years. With the gradual promotion of environmental protection policies, coal-fired power plants are being phased out by the government step by step, and solar power generation projects are receiving strong support from the government.
The data says that the country has over 200 GW solar potential, whilst only 211 MW has been installed in 2021, leaving a huge market for supporting equipment such as solar panels. However, due to the incapability in manufacturing, importation is indispensable.
In this session, we try to give a thorough view of local solar development through experts’ sharing, especially in rooftop scenario, and portray a future outlook, in hope to accelerated local solar installation.
