Huawei takes up 40% of global PV inverters shipment in 2021

Huawei has shipped 52 GW of solar PV inverters in 2021. The Chinese conglomerate and inverter maker shipped 2 GW of storage systems last year. In 2020, total PV inverter shipments totaled 41.7 GW, according to Huawei's smart PV business sector.

Sungrow, another solar inverter giant maker, sold 47 GW of inverters in 2021, with 3 GWh of global shipment of energy storage system.

According to the data of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the global PV installed capacity was 133 GW in 2021, and Huawei covered nearly 40%.

The versatile corporate believed that their current business continuity management system and management mechanism they’ve established are effective since they have been able to continuously ensure the continuity of supply and the timely delivery of products/services under today’s unstable global environment.

Song Kai, vice president of the enterprise communication department of Huawei, stated that the company has started their solar station layout in 2012, which has built intelligent photovoltaic power stations with a total capacity of 19.5 MW in the rooftops of the company’s research institutes in Dongguan, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Nanjing.
