Jolywood builds GW-level TOPCon intelligent plant

Chinese bifacial module maker Jolywood recently held the commissioning ceremony of J-TOPCon 2.0 1.5 GW intelligent cell factory in Jiangyan District, Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. The project is the world’s largest GW-level TOPCon intelligent cell factory based on large-size silicon wafer.

The project, with a total area of 14,633 square meters, is transformed from the original old plant. It introduces advanced automatic production lines, including domestic advanced facilities such as equipment for in-situ doped polysilicon layer deposition on one side without winding plating.

The factory combines artificial intelligence with fully automated production equipment, and integrates 5G intelligent AGV material and product transmission system and digital MES management system to conduct all-round and multi-level monitoring, analysis and optimization of the plant, so as to ensure that the operation parameters of all equipment are centrally monitored and managed by the integrated system, which greatly improves the efficiency of capacity analysis and capacity management.

In addition, through state perception, information interaction and real-time analysis, the self-organization, self configuration and self decision-making of the production line are basically realized, which achieves real automatic unmanned intelligent production.

The factory adopts the latest J-TOPCon 2.0 technology independently developed by Jolywood, which is based on non winding, in-situ doping and other technologies, so that the cell efficiency continues to reach a new high, and the maximum efficiency of mass production can reach 24.5%.

Recently, Jolywood has integrated J-TOPCon 2.0 technology with 182mm large-size cell, achieving a laboratory efficiency of 25.4%. The company’s main Niwa series modules not only meet the requirements of high power, low cost and additional power generation gain, but also have advantages such as lower attenuation, higher bifaciality, and higher reliability, which are suitable for more application scenarios.

The company, currently the world’s largest manufacturer of n-type TOPCon modules, started relevant R&D and capacity planning as early as 2016. As of this August, Jolywood has provided more than 5 GW of n-type cells and modules for customers around the world, and plans to expand 16 GW capacity of n-type cells in Shanxi Province, which is now under construction.
