Trina Solar was awarded with the second prize of the National Technological Invention Award (NTIA) at the 2020 National Science and Technology Awards Conference held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on November 3 for the âKey Technologies and Applications of High-efficiency and Low-cost Silicon Solar Cell Meter Interface Manufacturingâ project. This is the first time that enterprise in photovoltaic field has won such prize.

The National Science and Technology Awards Conference is a high-profile conference held annually by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. It rewards a large number of major scientific and technological achievements and outstanding scientific and technological talents, with the highest courtesy of the country.
The project mainly led by Trina Solar took the lead in inventing the selective spatial distribution of doped elements, the structure of laminated passive film and its manufacturing technology.

The State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology established in Trina Solar
The State Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology established in Trina Solar is one of the first batch of state key laboratories for photovoltaic enterprises recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. As of the end of October 2021, a total of over 2,100 patents have been applied for, 105 leading and participating standards, and more than 60 government scientific research projects of various types have been applied for.
