Vietnamese local media reported that a ceremony was recently held in Guangning Province of the country to issue an investment license for the silicon wafer technology project of Jinko Solar (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. The project was invested with more than US $365 million, and is expected to start construction at the end of September 2021 and strive to produce the first batch of silicon wafer products in December 2021.
The project is mainly to process, manufacture, install and sell monocrystalline silicon ingots and silicon wafers, as well as R&D in the field of science and technology.
The designed annual production capacity of the project is about 1.43 billion pieces. It is estimated that about 2,188 job positions can be created after putting into operation, including 1,946 Vietnamese workers and 242 foreign experts and technicians.
