As the world’s biggest solar exhibition, SNEC Shanghai came to a successful end despite of the pandemic. A lot of ground-breaking innovations were unveiled by industry big names during the event. For inverter manufacturers, solar-plus-storage has become a prominent trend.
Huawei
Huawei launched its new generation of intelligent solar-plus-storage solution, covering “4+1” scenarios: Smart PV Generator FusionSolar 8.0, Green Residential Power 2.0, Green C&I Power 1.0, and Off-grid (fuel removal) Power Supply Solutions + Energy Cloud, aiming to accelerate the shift to zero-carbon generation and bridge the energy divide.
Disrupting the traditional structure, Huawei launched the future-proof smart PV generator, called FusionSolar 8.0. It offers customers two benefits: First, the smart PV generator promises improved grid stability; second, the world’s first “Gemini” ±1500V design can help to support larger sub-arrays, higher voltages, thus could reduce LCOE by 7%.
The upgraded Green Residential Power 2.0 solution highlights the innovative “1+3+X”structure. With the Smart Energy Controller at the core, it is equipped with three key components— the optimizer, the smart string ESS and the Green Power Cloud to build the intelligent power ecosystem. The Green Residential Power 2.0 solution, focusing on smart power generation, storage and smart power consumption with multiple active safety features, can lower energy bill and help customers start a zero-carbon life.
Sungrow
Sungrow proposed a concept of Zero Carbon Home 2.0. The heart of this system is the hybrid inverter and the battery. This residential inverter is hybrid or bidirectional. It can turn AC to DC, and also DC to AC. With the battery here, you can store extra electricity generated from the daytime and use it during the night. The electricity generated can also be used to power your EV. The iSolarCloud platform will make it easy to monitor the system on your phone.
Sungrow’s solar-plus-storage “1+X” modular inverter made its debut on June 3. Different from traditional centralized inverters, Sungrow’s “1+X” solution allows more flexible power plant design, higher power generation, more efficient O&M, and integration of solar and storage. This solution will be available overseas in the second half of this year.
Solis
Solis released the G6-GU320K-EHV high current and high power series inverter, which allows more power and lower LCOE. The inverter’s maximum power is up to 325 kWA.
The inverter uses 1500 VDC and can work at temperatures ranging from – 30 to 60 ℃. It supports full power output at 45 ℃. In extreme environment, the total capacity in 25 years is about 3.4% higher than the other solutions. According to the calculation, the LCOE of a 100MW power station can be reduced by nearly 3% by using the G6-GU320K-EHV solution.
KELONG
As a reliable solar-plus-storage solutions provider, KEHUA TECH released its new generation of 1500V string inverter solution with 350kW.
As soon as the product was released, it became the string inverter with the highest power in the world. It is based on the 1500VDC platform, with the maximum power output of 385kW.
Growatt
Growatt launched MAX 125KTL3-X LV — a C&I inverter with the industry’s highest power. It perfectly matches with 500W plus high power modules. The maximum efficiency is 98.7%, with 10 MPPTs, which means each megawatt can reach up to 80 MPPTs, further reducing BOS costs.
Solplanet
The ASW LT-G2 series of residential inverters launched by Solplanet on SNEC is both eye-catching and extraordinary in its performance. Compared with the previous products, in addition to a substantial increase in power, the input current is also increased to match the high-power modules.
Goodwe
To match high power and high current modules, Goodwe launched the 1500V high current inverter GW225KN-HT series, which has high current MPPTs. The input current of each string is increased from 15A to 20A. The optimized and compatible design can give full play to the advantages of high current modules and avoid DC limiting to the greatest extent, significantly increasing the power generation of utility-scale power stations.
TBEA
TBEA launched a new generation of 1500V 300kW + string inverter, which supports 24 input channels and 12 MPPTs. The current of MPPT is 48A, perfectly suitable for 182mm and 210mm bifacial high-power modules. Intelligent tracking technology is used to effectively improve the power generation by 1%, lower the LCOE by 2% and bring higher benefits to the power station.
Hoymiles
The main products released are microinverters HTM-1800 and HTM-2250 suitable for industrial and commercial 230V/400V distribution system. Each microinverter can be connected to six PV modules, which optimizes the installation process. It is a C&I PV project solution with cost advantage and high security.

KSTAR

CHINT
The 250kW large string inverter of Chint Power is born for utility-scale projects. In addition to its super power, it has super adaptability to trackers, 182mm and 210mm bifacial modules.
Sofar Solar
Sofar Solar released a number of solar-plus-storage inverters, including domestic hybrid storage stacker, AC coupled storage inverter ME50-20KTL-3PH, 25~50KTLC-G3 grid-connected inverter, 7~10KTL-G3 grid-connected inverter and other solar-plus-storage products, which can not only meet the needs of residential, commercial and industrial scenarios, but also provide more choices for energy storage users.
The 25-50kw three-phase PV grid-connected inverter (the third generation) is mainly suitable for medium-sized C&I scenarios. It has 110% long-term overload capacity and 98.9% of highest efficiency.
