9.91 GW solar PV installed from January to May: NEA


On June 18, the National Energy Administration (NEA) of China released the statistics of China’s power industry from January to May. By the end of May, China’s installed capacity has reached 2240 GW, up 9.5% year on year. The installed capacity of wind power is 290 GW, an increase of 34.4% year on year, and that of solar PV is 260 GW, up 24.7% year on year.

According to the statistics, 139.2 billion RMB was invested in power projects by major power enterprises in China, with a YoY increase of 8.8%, of which 11.7 billion RMB was invested in solar PV, up 8.9% YoY.

From January to may, 37.43 GW of new capacities were installed nationwide, including 7.79 GW of wind power and 9.91 GW of solar PV.
