On Monday, Haitai Solar, a Tier 1 module supplier, began construction of its HJT cell and module facility project in Yancheng City, Jiangsu province.
The project, with an investment of 5 billion yuan, plans to build a 5 GW heterojunction cell project and a 5 GW module project in two phases.
Haitai Solar is a manufacturer of solar modules, supporting structures, and energy storage solutions, as well as a developers of utility-scale solar plants. With total global production capacity of 8 GW, the company has been ranked as Top 10 PV companies in China in terms of production capacity and shipments.
